This is the backup to the backup transmitter. It is a Continental Electronics 316B 10,000 watt transmitter. It was installed in 1959 and is still in fine shape. It gets exercised once a month during our maintenance period.
The transmitter uses screen grid modulation. Three 4-65A tetrodes modulate the screen grids of three 4CX5000 tetrodes.
