This page is dedicated to the memory of our transmitter cat, Claude. Claude showed up at the transmitter in the early 70's and was adopted by the transmitter engineers. Claude was a very large cat but had the meow of a kitten. He slept under the transmitter building but whenever one of us was at the transmitter he would come in and take up residence on a old blue chair that was reserved exclusively for his use. In his older age, we thought he might be happier in a warm home so the transmitter engineer tried to take him home. To put it mildly, Claude did not take to a change of scene and he was brought back to the transmitter building and given an electric heated cat bed under the building. When he died, Claude was buried out by one of the diesel fuel tanks with his food bowl as a marker.
